Rakendra Smit was born in 1960 in Bovenkarspel (the Netherlands). He is producer, arranger, composer and plays bass, guitar and keyboards. He studied music at the Academy of Music of Alkmaar and was a member of several popbands before he became an arranger/producer.
In 1996 Rakendra, who was at the time working regularly with engineer/producer Philippe Anneveldt, met Erwin Radjinder.
Within a year the three of them decided to work together as a producers-trio.

During this time he also teamed up with Erwin to write and teach the Ntb-course "Cd-produktie in eigen beheer" and to research and write the "Ntb Studiosterrengids".
In between productions for others he worked with Erwin on the arrangements of the songs that were to make up Just Another Millionaire.
